Autism U: Being Diagnosed with Autism as a Teen or Adult

Guest Presenter:  Terry Matteo, Ph D. Autistic children are now being diagnosed in higher numbers than ever before, but another diagnosis is becoming increasingly common: that of previously undiagnosed adults, finally learning that they are Autistic. Adults may find socializing very stressful, battle depression, anxiety, and anger. Whether you have a formal diagnosis or not, Dr. Matteo’ will share resources and insights.

Dr. Terry Matteo is a Clinical Child Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. New to California, he is a founding member of the Governor of Arizona’s ASD Advisory Committee and has worked at the Children’s Developmental Center at Southwest Human Development and the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC). Dr Matteo focused on diagnostic assessments for autism in children, adolescents, and adults in his private practice. He was previously the director of the Children’s Developmental Center at Easter Seals/Southwest Human Development and specialized in developmental and psychological assessments of children and adults.
