Parents of Adults Support Group: What Are Independent and Supported Living Services?
Supported Living Services (called SLS for short) are services that support people with developmental disabilities so they can live in their own home or apartment. Independent Living Services (ILS) are provided to adults with developmental disabilities and offer
functional skills training necessary to secure a self-sustaining, independent living situation in the community. These services are provided to adults 18 and older and can be paid through regional center or private pay.
Our presenter this month, Dexter Weathers owner of Stellar Living will present the differences between Independent and Supported Living and explain what skills can be worked on through each service.
