
Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is the state agency which can assist Californians with disabilities to obtain and retain employment and maximize their equality and ability to live independently in their communities. These services can include the following:
- Career assessment and counseling
- Job search and interview skills
- Independent living skills
- Career education and training
- Assistive technology
If there is an issue which can not be resolved by contacting the office manager or district manager, the Client Assistance Program is part of Disability Rights California and can assist people receive services from the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).
Client Assistance Program (CAP): Provides information, advice and advocacy to help people with disabilities receive rehabilitation services from the DOR, such as training, education and employment. In addition, CAP advocates help protect the rights of people who receive or need services from Independent Living Centers, or other Rehabilitation Act Funded partners.
